Golf slide continued -

The book “Play Your Best Golf Now” by Pia Nilsson and Lynn Marriott helped me get my mind right when I was approaching an important milestone on the course (a win, setting a new course record for myself, etc.). Except for Harvey Penick’s Little Red/Green/Blue Books, I don’t have any golf instruction books in my library and wouldn’t have thought to buy one. PYBGN was recommended by the golf coach of the Canadian Junior team. I read it twice, followed the principles, and my game improved. You’ve probably heard a dozen times that a golfer has to “stay in the moment“ to play well and reach those milestones. This book actually gives you the mental techniques to do that and they worked for me. Good luck!

golf slide still

Thanks for that. I just now bought the kindle version of “Play Your Best Golf Now”

My teaching pro is an advocate of Rotella among others. She doesn’t talk golf swing much.
She does put me back into ball position and aiming setup... ball gets too far forward and I start aiming too far right.

I like Mr. Penick and have his books and videos.

I also have Tom Kite - https://www.amazon.com/How-Play-Consistent-Golf-Kite/dp/0671510983

he talks about playing golf, not golf swing\shot.

I also have Ken Venturi - https://www.amazon.com/Ken-Venturis-Stroke-Savers-Seen/dp/0689117639
which I think is really great re: how to.

I’ll swing a heavy club and chip and pitch in my side yard for most of the time now until next season, barring any surgery.

Thanks again.
