I look at BRICS vs G7 this way - G7 is WEF which is globalist. BRICS offers an alternative that isn’t globalist, at least not at this point.

The US government has bought into the Klaus Schwab mindset of “no borders” and one RULING entity that controls all people. Kind of like Hitler, Mao, or Stalin. I’m not sure where China falls on that spectrum, since they’re kind of a closed society, not much transparency. But I don’t trust them as far as I can throw them. And as I age, that distance is less and less.

Putin has spoken of a multipolar world, a world where there is no single ruling entity. And I tend to agree with that goal. Putin isn’t Reagan, Lincoln, Washington, or Trump, but Putin also isn’t Stalin, Mao, or Pol Pot.
