3rd party payers destroyed the doc/pt relationship. This is just another step on the path to govt run healthcare.
Dunno about that, insurance is a common practice outside of healthcare. But don't let that hold you back! There is no longer an enforcement mechanism for lacking coverage so you are free to disenroll and pay your costs out of pocket.

Uncoupling costs from the individual that is paying is the problem. It goes both ways. People abuse the system to get more service, and the business applies pressures/constraints to eliminate service.
Occurs in all paradigms, not just healthcare.
