I do not see problems for the US dollar for the foreseeable future.

If a currency collapses it has to have another currency to collapse against.

There is not another nation or currency with the strength to challenge the US and the US dollar. If there are problems I see it as the dollar becoming too strong compared to other currencies.

Like Dowd commented, everybody’s debt is dollar denominated (reserve currency) so as the crunch comes, the dollar is going to “fail up”.
