Thank you for the congratulations. Coming within 2 feet of the hole is an excellent shot! The adrenaline rush afterwards probably made that 2 foot putt look three times longer. I can attest that it takes an extraordinary amount of focus not to take a triple or worse on the hole that follows a hole in one. The adrenaline rush takes about an hour to dissipate and makes a smooth swing in the following holes quite a challenge, at least for we amateurs.
I had a couple of 6 inchers on a par three on the same hole in back-to-back days.
I had one in gloomin all by myself, no witnesses so I really shouldn’t talk about it.
I’ve played in a 4-some with 2 holes in one - with different people at different times and courses - and had my back to a 3rd. I was playing with a ranger at a course on a crummy misty day and he made a hole-in-one with a pink or purple ball he just found. 2-tiered green with the hole on the lower tier.
Hit the backstop on the right line and you have a chance.
I threw my shot right on top of his and just missed. he was praying I’d make the birdie(I didn’t) so he could brag about having honors over a birdie...too funny.
