Golf Slide

I was horribly remiss in not congratulating you on your 50 pound weight-loss achievement. That’s fantastic! You’ve lost some mass that helps to hit the ball farther, but you can now move your hips faster through the swing so you shouldn’t lose too much distance if you can get the timing right. There’ll be a frustrating period of adjustment but I’m confident you’ll get used to your new centre of gravity and hit the ball well again. Well done!

TY, lost it after being diagnosed with A Fib a few yrs ago. (5 weeks after 2nd covid shot) No heart racing but heart beats with a hiccup, only 75% efficient. So I figured if I lost 25% of my weight I'd not have any loss of energy and endurance and it worked. Just eliminated most foods with sugar, cut back on carbs, and during happy hours only have 1 or two beers instead of 4 or 5.

Not very good at golf but enjoy it more now that I'm older, lowered expectations. Play at least 5 times a week in the winter on the par 3 course at the RV resort we stay at, lots of Canadians there that we've made friends with. Playing that much my short game and putting probably has improved a bit but it comes and goes. Got my 4th hole-in-one last winter on the shortest hole on the course, about 75 yds. Green is small, two levels, and slanted towards the water. Played one day and hit the flag on a bounce, ball then rolled off the green into the water. A few days later hit one that landed a few feet further in front of the flag then rolled in.

Ironic that I'm a bad golfer but have 4 hole-in-ones but I'm a very good bowler bowler, average over 200, but never have had a 300 game. Have had at least 50 279 games, a few 290 games, and in one 3 game series a few yrs ago had two 279 games.

I love your story, except the part about afib after the second jab. (*sigh*) Our leaders have done some terrible things to us, but we’re awake now.

The first hole in one I ever saw was when I was playing with a woman who couldn’t hit the ball more than 100 yards with any club. She had a 48 handicap. She hit towards the green and the ball dropped into a 5 yard wide ditch in front, bounced on a big rock, jumped onto the green and rolled into the hole. You and I both know there’s a fair amount of luck in getting a hole in one, though, as numberonepal pointed out, the more you play, the more opportunities you have to get lucky. And it helps to be able to hit the ball in the general direction of the hole. Congratulations on your 4!

Four holes in one has to be a record! You are obviously a very lucky man, in many ways. Glad you are here.
