Not too many truly hot topics being discussed to attract the Rent-a-Trolls...except (at least to my elderly smeller) the sudden appearances lately whenever the Maui fires are even casually mentioned.
Combine that bright shiny thing with the absolutely bizarre behavior of the gummint (blocking off roads, freezing communications/media coverage, etc, etc) in and around Maui and....
Does anybody else get the distinct odor of a giant rat that just screwed up and came out in the daylight?
Well, just a thought. Although it could be interesting to go poke around a bit while the iron's hot (pardon the pun) and the PTB seem to be in such a rush to make everything go away.
Folks who have a scam go all to bits on 'em do seem to follow that same path and I'd really savor the thought of all those High and Mightys caught with their pants down.

There are legitimate reasons why fencing could be used but none of the people using them now have any legitimacy - officials block off exits during the fire and then block off evidence after the fire - not a good look.
I do think that some of the children that are believed to be 'missing' may not be 'missing'. I can't get over reports, if they turn out to be valid, that the schools sent children home during a fire knowing their parents would be at work. I have wondered if the buses headed for their normal routes, told the children the smoke was too thick and they would be taken someplace safe instead, and were then 'aquired', not rescued.
I've heard rumors that there's an Space Force hub in a burn area on the Islands but searching the web, the hub is on a different island, but those listed in the directory are 'main hubs' and I can't see Space Force telling the public EVERY location they have.
I do think you're right - there could be more than one reason our trolls are hyperactive right now, but it seems like the fires are at least a key or the key topic that they distract from.
