Is it not ironic that the worst pollution in the world is caused by leftist and communist totalitarian countries and the most radical environmentalists are communists and socialists?Ironic? No. Irony would be a Vegan trampled to death by a steer on the way to the slaughterhouse.
The pollution associated with communist governments is utterly predictable. Totalitarianism declares that nothing can be above the state. This separates man from objective good and evil. This acts to prevent people from speaking up when the state does something wrong. Then when there is no accountability the individual no longer feels compelled to do the right thing. It becomes everyone for themselves. Why protect the environment when it won't help you.
I believe it was Winston Churchill who said, "The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries."
Capitalist, I would say Free Market Capitalist, countries are generally cleaner than non-capitalist countries since they are uniformly richer.
When a person's needs are met they start to look to wants. When there is disposable income in excess of needs, money can be spend to make your living area nicer. People start to value cleanliness and so the environment gets cleaner.
If you really want plastics in the ocean cleaned up, find a way to make it profitable and it will be gone before you can say, "Bob's yer uncle."

I fear the process of 'free elections' is doomed. 😥 There has always been abuses but not the whole system. It is obvious that when Dems lose elections it is necessary to challenge the results; when 'pubbies lose an election it is treason to challenge the results.

Yeah, I also posted that on the Mayo Clinic blog this morning. VAERS is still useable; I suppose since it is of no effect. I posted on VAERS a couple of years ago and just read recently that my subject of concern was never mentioned there.

China's economy has gone into a nose dive since the end of 2Q CY2023. They have gone from one bit of bad news after another to every bit of bad news all at once. The following Tweet appears to be deleted. I had it open on my screen but before I got around to reading it - the tweet went 'gray' and non responsive and if I click around to see it, or copy a link to another page - same thing until I get a missing tweet message.
So - either it was fake news or it was deleted because it was true news.I suspect the latter because readers added context saying the post was sensationalist and you can read all about the actual content on the gatesfoundation.org/ideas/articles...yeah now I feel real good about it. It reads like, "Don't worry, Bill Gates is behind it..."
