As I have said several times on FR, if his name were something like Phineas Abercrombie-Fitch III and if he were a United Methodist, descended from Mayflower passengers and had blue eyes, he wouldn't come under so much flak here on FR.
IDTS/ I think his positions and history are the issue not his ethnicity.
