In the self-published book the general bashed environmentalists, feminists, Jewish people, Black Italians, and the LGBTQ+ community as the causes - according to him - of the problems afflicting the Italian society.

Excerpt contains absolutely no reference to race or ethnicity.

They probably just threw that unsubstantiated slander in their to "juice up" their accusations.

Also, in their minds, "raised legitimate concerns" is equivalent to "bashed."
