The government, the auto industry, and the tree huggers can take their EVs and stick em.

lol

Electric cars are not made for road trips they are made for people who drive relatively short trips to work and back home each day.

This article is complete BS. It would be like writing an article about how you took your gas car on a cruise through the desert and will never do that again, since there were no gas stations, so you are going back to a camel like any sane person!

Opinions vary.

My brother and his wife, (who are not greenies), bought a Tesla Y after renting two of them. It’s a very impressive car and driving experience. They love it, and I do too.

I’ve rented them. They’re fun. And interesting. And I’ll keep my ICE cars for the foreseeable future.

Not only is the Earth stripped to supply lithium for the extra large size batteries, it will also become a major source of pollution when the battery needs to be disposed. Same with solar panels.

The battery even drained 10 percent just sitting in the driveway for about a day.

A sitting battery losing charge is wasteful. Add that to your cost and environmental calculations, EV fans.

Would have been a better article without the hyperbole on gas vehicle range.

500 miles! Even the best long range vehicles I have had seldom have more than a 450 mile range, and that is running the vehicle to fumes!

Effective change to refuel is about 350 to 400 miles.

the technology isn’t there yet, with electric cars. The charging electric infrastructure isn’t there yet, to make it nearly as easy to recharge as it is to get gas to refuel a car.

Maybe someday it will all work out, but that day is not here yet.

“EVs are a new form of Slavery”

By the time people realize that’s true and not some paranoid notion it’ll be too late.

It’s not much of a leap to imagine the government controlling if, when, where and how far you can drive your EV.

EVs, windmills, solar panels are all part of the “energy transition” scam

The scam was pushed forward by several favorable trends of the last 20 years, among them: cheap oil, increasing globalism, a friendly China, global peace, peak trust in the nanny-state, and especially, low inflation and increasing debt at low/zero interest rates

All of those trends are reversing quite quickly.

Electric cars are not made for road trips they are made for people who drive relatively short trips to work and back home each day. Exactly, so if you buy an e-vehicle, your entire driving life is limited to driving to work and back.

Get with the program. EVs are being touted by governmental entities, in this country and world-wide, as the eventual replacement for all fossil fuel-powered vehicles. So where does leave those who do want to take "road trips," hmm? Maybe stuck at home, if the WEF-types have their way.

To each their own, I suppose, but I have noticed that this site has its fair share of Elon Musk shills and butt-boys. They make it pretty obvious.

EVs are not-ready-for-prime-time technology, and they never will be. There's no intention ever to make them so. As I say, get with the program. This is ultimately about one's freedom of mobility, not "climate."

While planning a week-long trip...
...to Seattle, yeah, good move.

As Kevin at the Engineering Explained YT channel has said, if you vacation by car, rent an ICE vehicle.
