When you put them together, the government is destroying, then condemning, then stealing peoples’ property. And that doesn’t even include the fate of the children or the deaths involved with the fire. The water shut-off. The cops blocking people from leaving. The entire thing stinks of tyranny at its highest level.

Perhaps a trial run of what they intend to do to the rest of us.

I’ve been posing in this thread this morning...

There could be a scheme involved in burning down Maui but that would be my second choice. Having some experience with Hawaiian bureaucracy it doesn’t surprise me that no one could get off he/she/its butt to even turn on the water. As a group they are buttsliding, un-motivated, un knowledgeable, inbred, ingrates with little qualification for much of anything. Not to mention nepotism is rampant. Many gummint jobs are assumed by the next family member. Cuzzins everyplace.

And keep this in mind: There is still a lot of quite burnable stuff on Maui. Kahalui could be next and it would go as quick as Lahaina.

The fire going on right now in Spokane, WA is a great example of how newcomers move in, just don’t get the drift, turn on the party lantern, and watch it burn down in a couple years. Maui is a fatal mix of old school lazyassness and new generation/ new comer ignerrance. Same thing a couple years ago in Paradise, CA
