San Andreas runs at an angle from Palmdale in the northwest to the Salton Sea in the southeast.

The fault in Palos Verdes goes along the bottom of the hill, from northwest to southeast

Two separate fault lines.

Pardon if I get a little loosey-goosey about the exact crack that is a problem at the moment. In terms of tectonic plate motion it looks to me like that whole crackhole coastline is headed for the bottom of the Pacific, one wrinkle and three inches at a time.

I sat thru an earthquake while visiting LA about 1952. I’ve watched it slowly turn to krap ever since. Looking at a map of all the known cracks It looks to me like a very dry cow pie slowly breaking in half.

As a side note, I happen to own a piece of bare land in the high desert, inland of all the known cracks. It’s a cheap hedge against the whole thing cracking off.
