I think it's been the worst through Palm Springs, Indio, Coachella, etc. this afternoon. But to be honest, the center of the storm just passed into California about an hour ago, so it's too early to tell. If it moves through quickly, it may be no worse than a usual winter Pacific storm. If it stalls anywhere, however, well... 10 inches of rain in an hour is a lot for any place, but especially a dry desert.

I'm more worried about landslides after the event than anything. And if earthquakes start popping off... that could be an indication of land about to slide. Ojai had a landslide just this past January after about an inch of rain, so this EQ makes me concerned. When I lived in Ventura County (over two decades ago now) there was a big hill in La Conchita that slid down and crushed a cluster of houses and killed a family there following some heavy El NiƱo rains.

ThankQ for that info on the rain. Still pretty quiet here. Let’s hope it’s that way for everyone.
