The thing is, it is nearly impossible to have a discussion with Lefties.

They don’t want to discuss or argue. They subscribe to Leftist dogma.

I worked with a woman some years ago who was a real Lefty, and she knew I was a conservative, but...we got along well, which was good, because we had to work closely.

We went out to dinner one night, and she asked me why I was a Conservative. I asked if she really wanted to know and was willing to listen, and when she said yes, I told her.

When I was done, she said that I sounded like I had thought it all out, which was true.

She is one of the sharpest and most intelligent persons I know, and she was smart enough to actually listen.

But I don’t think that is the case with most of them.

Leftists are often immune to reason or logic because their fixations are not logical but essentially emotional. The anomaly occurs when we understand that these people can be and often are of high intelligence and of high educational level as conventionally defined.

This anomaly is explained by the fact that intelligence is no defense to the seduction of liberalism any more than intelligence is a defense to narcissism. Actually, the animating driver of leftism is narcissism. Some call it the quest for power, I call it the urge to play God.

This is the primal urge of the ego, one identified early in the book of Genesis and one that is immune to logic, reason or the application of intelligence.
