I think it’s a sign of intelligence. They’ve found a way to be heard without rudely contradicting us. It also shows they value preciseness.
Our precious boy is ten now. We’ve seen him very little in the last year.

He is now 8 years old and just started 3rd grade at the school only a few blocks from us! They lived with us during his K year, but since then we pick him up from school and he stays with us until his parents get off work.
Last evening, our son, with their just-turned 2-year-old in tow, picked him up from our house. I had been at a meeting and got back just in time to interact before they headed out. Our youngest grandson greeted me with, “I want M&Ms.”😂 And, of course, Granny - with son’s consent - obliged. Then, at littlest grandson’s next announcement, I got to change his stinky diaper.🤣
