That would have been Montgomery Motors. They lost the H-D franchise when the Distributor was established or shortly thereafter. Before my time.
Montgomery is now the Polaris (Indian) and Suzuki dealer. PR ran their parts department for a few years after we got hitched, until we sailed away.
The Harley-Davidson Distributor was eliminated shortly after I left. No need for an outpost in the Pacific after the advent of the internet and modern communications technology. Everything is now run directly out of Milwaukee. I am still in touch with the crop of H-D RSM's, DM's and SOAR's from that era. All retired now of course.
Maybe that explains why the old guys went bust-—the whiners wouldn’t let me ride that Indian. It wasn’t like I’d already worn out two bikes. I remember them being a bit slow. Caught a flight to SFO once to buy a Sportster. That must have been about 1970.
