I cam close to buying one of those Mililani condos in the late seventies. $35,000. I thought it was WAY too much.

We may have crossed paths. I worked on Oahu from 60’s thru 80’s and finally sold the beach house in the early 90’s. My partners and I bought a Mililani house, phase 2, in 69. We made the deal pre-construction so were able to ride herd on how it was going up. As I recall we paid 36K but it was a house on a nice lot, not a condo. By the mid 90’s the whole middle of the island was un-real-liveable.
Condos on Oahu are kind of tough. For the first few years they work good. But they wind up being high maintenance. No pressure treated wood. Outside aluminum doors/trim takes a beating. Carpets are swamp builders. Cheapass paint inside and out grows mung——etc. etc. etc.
Well, that is around $167,000 in today's money, so...
