The reporters on the ground covering the team actively chose to ignore the national anthem discourse sweeping across the mainstream media in the United States.Just stop and contemplate that sentence for a moment and tell me about "journalism" in America.

Now, if one of the girls accidentally got her shoe tangled in a PRIDE rainbow flag that was lying near the warm up bench, and this girls was filmed kicking it off her shoe, then running into the game, all the reporters would have jumped onto that ‘non-story’.
To: MinorityRepublican
If one of the players had called another a gay slang name, that is all that would have been discussed.
To: MinorityRepublican
The womens team is dead to me. So they can discuss this or not, I am never watching again. I don’t care if they win or lose.

I think you could count the number of American Journalists on one hand. The rest are a bunch of spoiled, dumb as a rock, brats who could get a job at Taco Bell to save their lives.

For me, missing the goal on a penalty kick, twice in a row, is worse than standing mute during the National Anthem.

Because the controversy exists on a few sites and nowhere else. 3 players on the team didn’t put their hands over their hearts. This is far from controversial when compared to other athletes in other games.
There is literally no there, there.
To: Vermont Lt
It’s more the overall body of work over the past 4 years, and Rapinoe’s past history.

Rapinoe should not have been on this team. She has lost a step with her age. A younger more athletic girl could have filled the spot. They let her stay on, but a better coach would have gotten new talent. Some people say it cost them. They were just to afraid to release the lesbian.

They’re a rotten bunch... most everyone can see it, here and abroad

They were just to afraid to release the lesbian. So it's all about politics. The coach wasn't allowed to do his job.
The Yankees are known for their rule, players must have their hair cut above the collar of their baseball jersey and no beards are permitted.
It's all about the team.
To: Kenny Bania
Yeah, back when it was owned by Jamie Newberg it was worthwhile. Not now, though I am happy Jamie got his money.
