Hispanics and Indians practiced slavery in the form of “peonage” in the USA well after the Civil War
So much so that the anti-peonage act had to be passed to stop the slavery:

Rutgers should be held accountable here. A staff member is publicly making racist statements and calling for murder.

In the USA, the average slave lived 30 years. In South America, the average slave lived only 109 years. South American slavery far exceeded USA slave numbers. Shhh . . .
