HERE (Mid-South USA) the places that got 8-15” of rain a couple weeks ago still have standing water in a few spots. (There has been modest rain since then, too.) In my own yard there is a layer of smelly grey, almost inpenetrable clay, a couple feet down. Once the soil above that gets saturated, it doesn’t dry out quickly.

And... We have more heavy rain coming. (It actually started with a couple moderate rounds this morning.) This evening looks “interesting”, tho’ I don’t expect anything quite as epic as these two 2 typhoons in a row.)

we are completely dry with temps in the 90's....last rain was in June sometime...

but its normal for us to be this dry.....its a dry heat and cools down nicely at night....just north of here in Idaho they are getting down into the 40's at night...
