This is appallingly stupid.
Does anyone else grasp it?
“environmental factors”
Ok, then prove it.
Holy cow. What happened to the scientific method? The paper fails to analyze the difference between children born Caesarian vs. natural birth. If this has any validity whatsoever - and I care not for their whack-a-mole results - then they might find some valid data & move closer to causation vs mere correlation.
Food for thought (no conclusions):
“Conclusions: Preliminary data have identified the presence of ASD in the Amish community at a rate of approximately 1 in 271 children using standard ASD screening and diagnostic tools...”
For the record, the incidence of ASD in the US - non-Amish - is 1-in-36 for the year 2000.
I mistyped:
The incidence of ASD in the US - non-Amish - is 1 in 36 for the year 2020, not 2000.
(1 in 271 for the Amish)
I'm not following your line of reasoning here regarding the gut. How does the birth method affect that?
