I put on grapefruit and lemon peel to cook up, just to take precautionary. Accidentally went to sleep, woke up to smoke and horrid smell of burnt grapefruit peel.

I did that to a rack of lamb once when I was a newlywed!

Scary but I've been doing things like that too often so I have learned to have my kitchen timer near me. I set it and it has really helped. Just a cheap timer will do. Our minds are just working too hard.
