I really need to read up on Israel’s judicial reforms. What they actually are versus what the media makes them out to be.
From what little I understand, the Israeli Supreme Court is very powerful, and leftists use it to further their agenda. There have been big protests and counter protests in Israel for some time about this. Naturally, the news here hates the judicial reform.
The judicial reform intends to remove the Court's unchecked power through a series of six(?) Bills; one step at a time.
The Knesset just passed the first Bill. Bibi signed it.
Ironically, the Court can now strike down this new law that chips away some of its power by declaring it unreasonable.
Israel has no checks & balances among its Gov. branches as we have in the U.S. [on parchment only, since rampant corruption].
