“But while Millennials are the children of the Boomer hippies, Gen Z was raised by Gen X,..”
I think he has this mixed up.
Wasn’t X after the boomers, then the Mils and now Z?
There’s no disagreement. She’s assuming that people have kids in their 30s, and probably thinking about late Boomers, born in the 60s with kids born in the 90s. Early Boomers had Xer kids. Later Boomers had Millennial kids. Early Xers had Millennial kids. Later Millennials, or those who had children later, had Gen Z kids.
If she’s right about Gen Z guys watching the movie, they are “hate watching” it, or watching it ironically. I don’t think they deserve the knee-jerk abuse. They probably aren’t going to hear any of it, which is just as well.
He’s also wrong about Boomer hippies. The Haight-Ashbury group were mostly older than Boomers. They were people in their early to mid-twenties in 1964-68. I’m a Boomer and I was in HS during those years.
Yes. But Gen-X was mostly raised by early Boomers and Millenials by later Boomers or early Gen-X. Boomers were 1946 to 1964. Depending on the source, Gen-X was from 1965 to 1976 (or 1980). Millennials are 1977 to 1992 (or 1981 to 1996, again, depending on source). So Millenials were more likely born to the younger Boomers or early Gen-Xers. My folks were early Boomers and I'm younger Gen-X, but my kids are Gen-Z.
My siblings and I are all Gen X. Both of our parents are of the Silent Generation.
