Stomach cancer shows virtually no symptoms until seriously advanced. It was that way in my case. So “missed” is a word loaded with a negative connotation in this case.
I will say this. I had a gastroenterologist, an Oncologist/Hematologist, and an Oncological Surgeon that saved my life from stage 3 cancer.

They saved me when I was five... but only because my mother insisted on an X-ray. Our pediatrician complied, to humor her, and I was in the hospital the next day.
