Update:
About a year and a half later [2019], two videos showed Campbell practicing various swimming strokes over beginner distances, with the hashtags “#Progress” and “#survivalskills”.
He may have decided to learn to swim when he took up paddle boarding, in the event he was dumped into the water. New swimmers or swimmers without confidence are still prone to panic when faced with an unexpected gulp of water or loss of orientation in the water. That’s the benevolent explanation.
