Never mind the water. This story is already “deep.” First the “dressed in black” part. That would have to be a wet suit and every wet suit ever made adds buoyancy. That’s why divers have to add weight to actually descend. That would also be why the stiff was easy to find-—he was FLOATING.
Then: “what did he cook?” An early story mentioned the Campbell guy used honey grown in Moochie’s garden to make brews, or some such. Never mind that one doesn’t “grow” honey.
