RE: “...the babies we eat...” video clip that’s going around lately, from a speech by the late Barbara Marx Hubbard on May 7, 2015. Was it just a slip of the tongue, or a Freudian slip (In psychoanalysis, a Freudian slip, also called parapraxis, is an error in speech, memory, or physical action that occurs due to the interference of an unconscious subdued wish or internal train of thought.)

Barbara Marx Hubbard was a futurist, spiritual thinker, author and proponent of what are today lumped under the label of New Age ideas. Hubbard posited that humanity was on the threshold of a quantum leap if newly emergent scientific, social, and spiritual capacities were integrated to address global crises. She believed that humans would graduate to a new level of cooperation and enlightenment.
In 1984 her name was placed in nomination for the vice-presidency of the United States on the Democratic ticket. Ms. Hubbard, campaigning for months, had gathered enough support to have her name placed in nomination, mostly so that she could make a symbolic speech to the convention before endorsing the already assured ticket of Walter F. Mondale and Geraldine A. Ferraro.
Ms. Hubbard was a frequent speaker at seminars and conventions organized by groups like the World Future Society, and her 1998 book, “Conscious Evolution: Awakening the Power of Our Social Potential,” is a core text among those who think the human race is on the brink of an enhanced way of existing.
I wish the Freedom Caucus would oust McCarthy and put Jim Jordan in his place.
