Got off a greyhound bus in Phoenix
at 12;00 midnight, in 1974. It was 112.
But this in the middle of town. Lots
of heat soaking asphalt and concrete.
A/C thermostats in the depot were set
at 78. Felt like an icebox inside.
Used to drive home from my job in Tucson late sometimes.
Was a Valley Bank with a time display on the way.
Was routine to see it say 100 at midnight.
Didnt feel that bad. With no sun, it really seems to be 10-15 deg cooler.
It’s not a big deal. It’s the desert.
