I come to think he is not in Germany. There are dozens of cities in the US named Berlin, and one is a town in Rensselaer County, New York. One observes that Berlin_Freeper's "About" page declares himself to be a "Retired NYC Ironworker" and the location flag is US, although there is an option for various overseas flags including Germany's.
