Unfortunately, ever since the Obama years (’The police acted stupidly”) and reinforced after the George Floyd riots, there seems to be Open Season to attack anyone who is not Black or Brown, and there are exceptions to that as well.

I didn’t see the incident with the two women attacking his wife. Perhaps this couple was so unused to encountering anyone who would randomly attack them, it took a moment to register. Maybe the couple expected a Smash & Dash situation, where somebody slugs you and immediately runs off. Not this time.
