Looks like Rand was in WV (by himself?) at the weekend trying to help defeat Joe Manchin.

What a treasure.

Where is the rest of the GOP ? This is ridiculous...

The rest of the GOP is behind the 75 year old former Democrat Jim Justice.

Because Mooney took out a RINO last year. And we can’t have that type of attitude in the Senate!!

The Republican governor Jim Justice is also running for the GOP nomination. He’s a native, Mooney isn’t. That means a lot in Appalachia. Justice will likely win and go on to defeat Manchin. I think this was a foolish move by Monney so soon after his House victory. I’ll be voting for Mooney but Justice will win.

Mostly it’s a money thing. Justice is self financing Mooney isn’t.

Thought Mancin wasn’t running for re-election, but perhaps for president

I’ve talked to him a couple of times. I like the guy. Solid on MAGA issues. However, he’s a professional politician moved to WV to have a political career. It’s extremely obvious! That’s my main negative on him. Him coming here getting a House seat, wins reelection in an expanded district, the jumping in to run for the Senate. Bad bad optics! The carpetbagger charge would stick if he got the nomination. Manchin will play that card. He successfully used it against Morrissey (GOP opponent) the last time. It will be interesting to see what Mooney does if he loses the primary. He won’t have a House seat to fall back on. Governor Justice (Who I don’t like!) is a pal of Trump. Both resort owners!

Manchin would like to run for President as a democrat. Unless something very dramatic happens he isn’t going to get his wish. There’s talk of him outside the state going 3rd party. I can’t see it. I don’t hear anyone mention it seriously here in WV. But stranger things have happened!
