"OK" is a reference to an excuse.
USMC79to83 misunderstood the question.

Reference:
A reason is why a person made an action.
Excuse is when a person made an action that is warranted.

I need to give an example on the difference between reason and excuse.
example (reason):
My reason I shot that guy in the head is because he looked at me.
Example excuse:
My excuse I shot that guy in the head is because he pointed a weapon at me and shot me in the arm.
Reason and excuse are not synonymous.
Excuse is usually judged by someone other then yourself.
