I’ve lived my entire life in a smoky old mill town. Well, not so smoky anymore as the mills are all gone.
Anyway, the many Democrats I know are of the “blue dog” type. They believe in hard work. They are patriotic. Many are veterans. They put out Old Glory on holidays. The older ones voted for Reagan (so they can be reached). And they would no more wear a Che shirt than cut off a finger.
And they usually vote Democrat. It’s not because they are communists. It’s because grandfather told them that the Democrats are the party of the average guy, the working man.
So yes, those Democrats are certainly part of the problem. It is infuriating! But I will not call them evil. Because they are not. Stupid, yes. Dangerously out of touch, yes. But I will not automatically assume the worst of them.
That’s something liberals do.
Well, we must run in significantly different circles. I know they are not all the same, but boy have I met some doozies in my field.
Say, if things keep up, we might get to debate this in gulag together! You think there will be a lot of those blue dogs in there with us? Or will it mostly be just us?
