Watergate wasn’t about what NIXON did, it was about what the FBI/CIA did TO NIXON.
It was much worse than Crossfire Hurricane, because they succeeded in removing the President with the largest mandate in the history of the country, successfully covered up their involvement, used the media to propagate an essentially false version of events, and has most people 50 years later still believing they were the good guys.
J Edgar conspired with the CIA to cover up the Kennedy assassination. That was pretty bad. The Branch Davidian massacre was in response to Clinton wanting the siege off the evening news cycle. The FBI burned the village to save it.
I think it’s probable the CIA/Deep State killed JFK either as revenge for Bay of Pigs, his screwing an East German spy in the White House, or his peace overtures to the USSR (American University speech).
But we will never have as much direct evidence as we do in the revelation that the “author” of the Watergate story was the FBI Deputy Director.

I always liked Nixon. I was pro Nixon speaker in a debate in 1968 in college. Why Nixon allowed Watergate to undo him has always mystified me. It was so stupid and unnecessary. He won the 72 election by a landslide. He had a juicy enemies list and four years to exact revenge. What a missed historical opportunity.

Government agencies with unchecked power are evil. My own Brother, the genius of the family was in the ASA, then moved on to its other Brother agencies. He came out of that to work in Navy shipyards, it was more honest and he liked working. He handed me two books, None dare call it conspiracy, and None dare call it treason. He would never tell me what he did or where his posts were. I read, and come to conclusions. We talked, he said the things in the book were just the tip of it all.
