I'm bound to the recliner, i had surgeey last week. Been watching all kinds of history.
I'm going with Teddy Roosevelt as #2. George Washington as #1.
What is your #1#2and #3? Just curious and bored.
Happy Independence Day, thanks.
God Bless
Great list but they have to be deceased
I was just thru his old stomping grounds last week headed to Durango et al
Fascinating character
Here’s another similar story
I could go with Ted, but he could still kick me into the dirt.
They gotta be dead fools.
I’ll start a new thread
18th Century, George Washington.
Honorable mention to The Marquis de Lafayette, a hero on two continents.
19th Century, Frederick Douglass.
Honorable mention to Confederate General Longstreet. Military genius and visionary, he would have been ahead of his time if he had been beamed into the trenches on the western front in The World War.
20th Century
G.I. Joe
Honorable mention:
Ronald Reagan. Anyone who needs an explanation would not understand it. Tragic shame about the Alzheimer’s.
21st Century:
Donald John Trump. Same deal about explanation.
Honorable mention:
G.I. Joe’s grandson. Also Governor Kari Lake of Arizona.
George Washington totally tops overall. Trivia note, he had guys hanged for buggery.
Robert Edward Lee and Thomas Jonathan “Stonewall” Jackson.
Stonewall is in my top 10
George Washington.
Not because he won the revolution but because he started the French & Indian war. His screw-up while on a mission for the British Army started a war between them and the Frogs (and their Indian allies) over control of the Ohio Valley.
https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/when-young-george-washington-started-war-180973076/
The only reason the French got involved with the American Revolution was they still were angry (at the British) over being driven at gunpoint out of the Ohio Valley.
Without the assistance of the French, it’s not certain the Colonials could have defeated the Redcoats. And even if they had, it’s a certainty it would have taken considerably longer to do so.
So young Washington’s screw-up translated into victory for General Washington when it was for all the marbles.
Lee is a favorite no matter how one feels about the war.
Thanks, I will definitely watch this!
Francis Marion was cool.
John Basilone.
You two might enjoy this story. The story about Stonewall Jackson starts at the 37:00 mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RVFO_EUHdw

No wonder all the HR departments have been cut out of the loop. Rejection is their stock and trade. They won't know what hit them.
He allowed the government agencies to be heavily infiltrated by Communists. He allowed entry into the UN and the stationing of the UN on U.s territory opening giant spy networks to operate in U.S. under guise of UN state employees. He allowed the Soviet Union to develop atomic weapons. Allowed Mao to take over China. Entered us into the Korean War under the authority of the United Nations and for the first time the US did not fight to win the war just hold territory. He was a disaster from which we have never recovered.
That was Lincoln’s ego. Same type of ego as Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
Daniel Boone.
1. Washington
2. Douglass
3. Reagan
