Use merit - and everyone starts on an equal footing.
But...but.....what if some students don’t HAVE merit? (And, btw, I am NOT saying that a whole ethnic group does not have any merit; in order to be FAIR, ALL people, of ANY group, must be judged on the content of their character. That’s what true fairness is.)
Now they can weigh out.
Has anyone noticed that the elitists from the left says out of one side of their face that we have to recognize that the demographics of America has changed, while out of the other side of their face they cling to the demographics of 50 years ago to hold onto their positions of power and wealth?

Here’s the beauty of ‘merit’.
Ten years from now a black man will not have to prove he’s competent or qualified for the job he has - or have to act grateful to white liberal ‘elites’ for keeping him ‘out of chains’ AND for ‘giving’ him a job.
Same for all students of color - in the future when you see a black student at a college - any college - you’ll know they have earned the spot and they belong. Legacy white sons and daughters of our ‘elties’ will not assume the condescension stance toward the young person and working class students will not resent the favoritism - because it won’t exist.
In short - it’ll be a better world for all of us...
