I came here from the UK. It also has nothing that really resembles the USA Constitution. Historically, it has been considered a bastion of free speech. No longer. Now they have subjective ‘hate speech’ laws. People get arrested over comments online.

The right to self defense is also subjective. You can also only use ‘appropriate force’, otherwise you’re guilty of a crime - up to murder. It is a subjective standard, one that *requires* you to put yourself in unnecessary risk.

There is no protection from the government turning tyrannical. Which has basically happened already, COVID proved that. They do have the ‘right to bear arms’ but only ‘as deemed necessary’ (by the crown).

While England did provide the basis for our Constitution, the Magna Carta, it was largely only addressing the power of the monarchy - several hundred years ago.
