I’ve had that from older-than-me’s as well, like “I won’t watch Fox News because it conflicts with my beliefs.” At this point, I kinda know how she felt. ;^)

I used something of the sort, years ago when someone said he thought I “was a very religious person.” I said, “You’re right. I am. I just can’t find a religion to fit my beliefs!” True story! ;o]
