Maple seem to have a short life. I've lost three in the past couple of years and my 4th is on support system. Hubby has to move his car from drive-way anytime a storm is threatened. We just don't have the money at the moment to pay tons to have it cut down. Sadly limbs are falling off and even the bark. Its part of our shade for the front yard. In the last ten years we've lost 2 once beautiful Ash to disease here in IN, and 3 maples. It has cost us a small fortune to have them cut.

I couldn't have the Ash fully cut down due to the fact we have a spring under our house and we're surround by an underground storm sewer and we were afraid our ground would shift if we lost the entire trees and trunks. Living beside a river does strange things to land. The spring has already moved to another neighbors area. Covering three homes now.

You have beautiful land.

Thanks. My better angel has the green thumb. She cultivates roses, among other stuff.
maples were planted when the subdivision was built - 1958-1959-ish. Not sure what their self-life was supposed to be, but some were dying\rotted from the inside out.
