How did Chloe get so lucky to be a pet while the others will be lamb chops?
The little lamb was a real runt, and, being a sheep farmer, Matt didn’t want to spend the time bottle-feeding with hundred of other lambs to manage. There’s a milking machine, but Chloe was too small and weak to use it. Audrey asked Matt if she could have the runt and if she took care of it, could she keep it as a pet. Needless to say, she fed that little baby and cuddled it and cared for it and it thrived.
I have videos and pics of her and the lamb. It is the funniest thing to see that lamb chasing after her as she’s running down the lane. So cute. Now she’s got that little Oriole with her all of the time as well lol.
The other day some friends were over and Audrey dropped by with her little Oriole to show them. I hadn’t seen Chloe for a few weeks, so I asked Audrey how Chloe was doing. She said that her dad had switched all of the sheep to different barns, and she thinks he took Chloe to the butcher by mistake. Well, my friends gasped, but Audrey didn’t seem bothered. I said to her that she was taking it very well lol. As it turned out, Chloe is fine, but Matt is a little disappointed that Audrey had no faith in him as a father OR a farmer lol.
Now we have some new little piggies. They’re going to be pastured pigs, just for our own use. They’re a certain breed that gets a wooly coat and thrives in the winter. Also, this pig has the meat more marbled, like beef, so the pork is more juicy and tender. It’s called a Mangalista pig. There’s five of them - cute little things.
Today Andy got two “Bearded Dragons”. Someone was giving them away, home, equipment, and all. For good reason. Ugly lizards. Nothing cute about them. Must be a boy thing.
