We got a real scare because of the heat in the valley...

It has been 110° or higher the last 19 days, a record, in the Phx area.

Our youngest granddaughter, 17 years old, works as a lifeguard at a water park.

She was at work yesterday and passed out, had a seizure and when she came to couldn’t move her arms.

She was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with heat exhaustion.

Thankfully it wasn’t a heat stroke.

Daughter took her to their doctor this morning and she is doing OK, admonished to drink more water and Pedialyte.

She takes a large tumbler full of water and ice to work but obviously not enough.

We all need to be more careful especially when we are gardening or doing yardwork in this extreme heat.

Don’t leave home without water even if just going to the store.

How scary! Thank God she’s ok! I hope she gets breaks where she can go cool off.
