I have a German aunt, my uncle married her when he was stationed in Germany in the late 50’s.

She was only 15 years older than me.

She sure opened my eyes as to what good people went through during WWII in Germany having survived it as a child.

You are right.....

Going to the citizens of a country to learn what is really going on is much better than listening to their government or the media.

I'm crying now thinking about their comments. They knew people who torn down houses and would find hundreds of bodies. ALL this was hush hush and never wrote about. I had a German friend that had married her American husband, then when Germany was decided she was cut off from all her family. She cried and cried tears of joy when the wall came down. I lost contact with her but hope she was reunited.
