In other words, disagreement and healthy debate is acceptable - blanket insults, flames, etc., are not.
We need healthy debate. It’s how we resolve things, how we find the truth.
Insulting individuals (or entire groups) that disagree on minor points does nothing to help one’s cause and often results in people just skipping over the posts of the offender, even if they have a solid point.
There are a couple of posters who I rarely read because of the caustic nature of their posts.
We are not democrats - we are not a monolith of unwavering wrongness as ordered by the party.

Not quite Caucus status, but not like the general board threads. RN is the one managing, lifting the heavy load of keeping the threads going. She is our “leader”. She is far more intelligent than me. If she recognizes a threat, and makes a request of you, that does not make her a cult leader (not that you called her that); she is our leader by general consent and appreciation.

I find such posts not only distracting, but cause for concern. When politely asked to stop, they persist. That is trolling. It is just plain rude to continue where one has been told they are not wanted.

“We” meaning FR posters in general? I would agree. However, on the Q thread, we are a unique part of FR with unique thread characteristics and guidelines.
I want to also note that a sad effect of not respecting RN’s guidelines and requests is that some genuinely lovely other posters think RN is referring to them. I can think of one in particular who I love and whose posts are just delightful. Distinctly different from posts of the kind to which RN is making requests. I do not wish to delve into this further than my simple comment.
