Sometimes dents can ‘repair’ themselves if the dents are not too deep and you live in a warm climate and your vehicle is usually parked outside in the sun. The metal on a car has a certain amount of ‘memory’ regarding it’s original shape. Sometimes repeated heating and cooling of the metal will cause it to ‘remember’ what it originally was. As I said, minor dings only.
Also the internet has several videos wherein ice or some other real cold substance is applied to small dents causing the metal to contract and sometimes ‘pop’ back to shape. I have done that a few times with some success.
Dents or cracks with allow rain water to enter electrical connections. GFI logic will see a short to chassis and grounding and halt ALL energy production from that inverter. Any significant resistance to ground will trip stuff.
Good to know. POF mentioned the dents were deep so I would expect it wouldn’t work on them.
