Maybe, but he ran a long way with at least 30 pounds of gear on him, (not counting the rifle and ammo). I’m sure a lot of his breathing had to do with the adrenaline circulating through his body.
I give him credit for getting the job done, he’s a hero to the many who emerged safely from the mall, no doubt. But as he’s walking and huffing and puffing, there were a lot of shots being fired and he’s telling the dispatcher he’s moving as fast as he can. Who was killed while he was walking as fast as he could? If his gear is weighing him down and resulted in his getting to the shooter in 4 minutes instead of 3 when the shooter was walking not more than 2 minutes away, then there’s a problem the police force must address.
