Yea they should have done it the old fashion way. The MC calls out your name, you walk across the stage, get your diploma and walk off the stage.
I guess they wanted to be different and thought college kids would act adult. They forgot about the BT-1000.
When my son graduated, they listed him as cum laude on the Jumbotron. He was Magna cum laude.
Did he pitch a fit? Of course not. Walked across the stage, waived, shook hands.
They got it right on his degree.
