i dont think it went down like that. I think from the first “tinks” heard from the pressure, it wasnt to much longer after that the lights went out per se. at 4000ft what the vehicle was rated at, the hydro pressure would be close to 2000 psi. at the depth of the titanic, hydro psi is above 5500... either is enough to cruch you immediately...

Im not an engineer but from what Ive seen them write, I dont know that there was tinks.
It wasnt metal like the regular navy subs, the carbon cant flex repeatedly like the alloy on subs. The carbon seems perfectly fine one minute with no sign there are fibers breaking until it achieves failure then its just gone.
