Tax investigator says prosecutor decisions whittled down the case against the president’s son
An IRS agent who supervised the investigation into President Biden’s son Hunter told lawmakers that Justice Department officials slowed and stymied the investigation, whittling away the most serious evidence of alleged tax crimes, according to a transcript of his account released Thursday.
The agent, Gary Shapley, offered a detailed and potentially damning account of prosecutors who were either timid or uninterested when it came to examining the financial misdeeds of Hunter Biden, which Shapley said included instances in which the president’s son treated prostitutes and their travel costs as his business expenses.
The agent’s account to the House Ways and Means Committee also directly challenged congressional testimony from Attorney General Merrick Garland, in which he said that Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss — a holdover from the Trump administration — had full authority to lead the investigation into Hunter Biden and could do whatever he wanted in the case.
A Justice Department spokesman stood by Garland’s previous comments, and the lead Democrat on the House committee said the allegations should not have been released publicly while lawmakers are still vetting them.
The transcript almost certainly will fuel criticism of the Justice Department’s five-year investigation of Hunter Biden, which this week led to a proposed plea agreement on two misdemeanor charges that will probably allow him to avoid jail time. Biden is due in federal court in Wilmington, Del., on July 26 to enter his guilty plea, which must be approved by a judge.

The FBI in twenty years went from the law enforcement agency with a deserved reputation for integrity and professionalism to an institution that is thoroughly corrupt and scorned by decent, rational people. The FBI is simply not trustworthy.

Feds investigating a Republican or MAGA person = charges will be filed and, likely, that Republican is going to jail or will be forced to turn on other like minded folks.
Feds investigating a Dem or Lib=. It isn’t an investigation at all. It is akin to having the best defense attorney in the world. They aren’t investigating so much as figuring out how to exonerate. If running out the clock on the SOL is the way, then so be it. Heck, they will even come up with new ways to add to or interpret a law if necessary.
For example, Comey announcing that “sure Secretary Clinton had classified info, didn’t secure it, and destroyed it. But she had no INTENT. Cherry on top, the head of the FBI had no business rendering a charging decision.
That is PRECISELY what the Special Counsel investigating Biden’s possession of classified docs is going right now. He is figuring out how to explain away and justify each and every instance of possession. And if he can’t, then he will slow walk it so that the Trump trial occurs first.
McCarthy is the only person in this Country that can take action - and of course he does nothing. He claims to take his job seriously, sure.

I suppose that there is a small chance that a judge would not approve the plea deal in the interest of equal justice.
I know that I am not being realistic.
No judge would ever do that, but it is with in their power.
They noted the slowdown was clearly obvious in 2020, meaning it had been building for a while. Was Joe president then? If not, why did the previous admin have a slowdown?
They have missed years of truth and fact. One article does not exonerate.
